Reviewing an Existing Organisation

Following an organisation conducting LOI™, the data often identifies that one of the primary causes of its weak Climate lies in the way the organisation is structured. GIL possesses the means by which this diagnosis can be addressed quickly and effectively.

The LOI™ Structure data may show that the staff who have responded to questionnaires consider the organisation to be assembled in such a way that jobs overlap with each other, or that there are wide gaps between roles, or that the organisation is too rigid and less customer focused than it needs to be. The data may also point to jobs being defined in less than explicit fashion such that people do not understand the significance of their role or their accountability. Roles may be regarded as drudgery rather than motivational.

Reviewing existing structures and devising new designs

The validity of our approach reviewing and re-designing organisations is born of the 40 plus years of research conducted by Elliott Jaques and continued by the Requisite Organization International Institute, which has endorsed the efficacy of our partner’s software functionality. Its practicality rests on interviewing both managers and roleholders to discern their respective view of the accountabilities they have assigned as managers and the accountabilities they have accepted as a direct report. Furthermore, management of the entire process, from interviewing to using the software can be trained into an organisation so enabling it to act far more self-sufficiently and, thereby, at lower cost in evaluating the purposefulness of its prevailing organisational structure.
